Peng Joon Virtual Game Changer Course Review: Initial Thoughts (Honest Review)

ZachApril 29, 2020October 17, 2020

Update: Full Honest Review of the course can be found here!

“Ask yourself, If not now, then when would you make your first move?”

Those were the words that struck a chord in me into purchasing Peng Joon’s Virtual Game Changer Course.

I have always been skeptical of these Digital Marketing ‘Gurus’ that made MILLIONS of dollars online. I don’t know if you guys have the same questions as me but I was thinking ‘if you are doing well in your digital marketing, why would you be teaching and coaching people? Why not just continue to scale what you are doing?‘

But I guess it was something about that Webinar Peng Joon spoke about that made me purchase this course.

As the Covid-19 pandemic is still lurking, many events and seminars have been canceled. It was mentioned during the webinar that Peng Joon’s Game Changer is a physical event held. But due to the Covid-19, they have decided to hold this course virtually and reduced the price of the course greatly. It was a very tempting offer of $497 USD…

Before I went to throw my savings into my first ever online course, I did my due diligence and to find for course reviews on Peng Joon’s courses. There were many praises and good reviews on it online but somehow it feels like they were all affiliates of his course or they’re helping him sell his course as well. Sneaky sneaky..

However, there are a few negative reviews that I found (negative reviews seem to bring out the real thing in courses) talking about how the course is not practical in helping complete beginners. Moreover, the reviews were complaining about how the stuff they were asked to download was not used at all.

OKAY. Even though after reading this, I still went ahead to purchase the course. (A Sacrifice to write this review for you guys)

SOO after purchasing the course, we were told to register for a seat online for the 3-day online course which is happening from 8-10 May 2020 and things started to get interesting…

The Pre-Training
Afterwhich, we had to go through 3 pre-training videos before 8 May. When I entered the pre-training, I was expecting perhaps an overview of what is going to be covered or materials we could read up on before the start of the course. I. Was. Wrong.

The pre-training consists of downloading and creating a Clickfunnels account and playing around with it. DO NOTE. Clickfunnels’ subscription is $97 USD/month. They recommend creating new emails and refreshing the free trial until you have a concrete business that has a use for clickfunnels’ software. (also the clickfunnel link is an affiliate link so more money goes to them!)

After you have registered for a clickfunnel account, the next step would be to get a domain name from namecheap and purchase a hosting server. All these steps are recommended before starting the training so that the training would be more productive. It’s like me telling myself every day that I would start my exercise routine and be more productive…

The last step would be to install WordPress onto your site by accessing the cPannel. This is something new that I learned which is helpful as I always thought that you need to purchase a WordPress Business Plan to use plugins on WordPress.

All in all, you would be spending an additional $300 USD ($11 domain + $287 USD HostJill hosting server) and that’s on top of the $497 USD course fee.

Being my skeptic self, I did not sign up for any of these first, as they did not even explain how or what we are going to do with this domain-name, server purchase and click funnel subscription. I wouldn’t want to be wasting even on something that I don’t even know what I’m going to use for.

However, I already had a plan in mind when I purchased this course. Therefore, I do hope that it would bring me some value and steps on how I can scale online businesses.

My Learning Goals for Peng Joon’s Virtual Game Changer Course:

  1. How To Create an Effective Sales Funnel
  2. Getting more Traffic to my site
  3. How to do affiliate Marketing Effectively
  4. Video Marketing

Initial review
In conclusion, my initial review of the course, so far it looks even shadier with what was asked to download. But then again, it could be me just being a skeptic on these courses.

Do let me know if you have ever attended any of these courses other than Peng Joon’s course. It would be interesting to see the views on other Marketing Guru’s courses.

I will be back with more updates on the course! Stay Tuned…
